CLMHD 50th Anniversary Celebration

50 Years of Leadership and Collaboration | 1976–2026

On May 12, 2026, the New York State Conference of Local Mental Hygiene Directors will commemorate fifty years of advancing New York’s local mental hygiene system through collaboration, advocacy, and shared leadership. This milestone evening will bring together Directors of Community Services (DCSs), state partners, former DCSs, and guests to reflect on the Conference’s legacy and look ahead to the next chapter.

For five decades, county leaders have worked in partnership with state agencies and community stakeholders to strengthen behavioral health systems across New York. This celebration honors that leadership and the collective work that continues today.
