Employment Opportunity in Columbia County: Director of Community Residence (Mental Health)

The Philmont Hearth -- a community residence for 14 adults with mental health diagnoses -- currently seeks qualified applicants for the position of Director. This individual will be responsible to manage all day-to-day operations of the organization, under the guidance of its Board of Directors.  

The successful candidate will provide direct counseling and support for the health and well-being of residents in OMH licensed mental health housing.  

The Director will also:

• Oversee all operations of the residence, including staffing, program design, transportation, medication management, and emergency interventions;

• Recruit, train, support and supervise an associate staff of 12 full and part time employees;

• Establish and maintain links and referral procedures with hospitals, county and private clinics, and local treatment programs; 

Required to Apply: 

MSW or a BA degree in social work or a related human services field: e.g., health, counseling, education, psychology, nursing.   

Desired Experience:  4+ years direct care in a mental health setting; 4-5 years of supervisory experience is desirable. 

The Hearth provides fully paid health insurance coverage to its employees as well as paid holidays and generous leave time.  Salary will be based on experience and qualifications.
